Refreshment, Games, Fun

The Paradise – Vela Luka holiday homes include two beautiful, modern refurbished buildings. They have become one of the most luxurious homes in Vela Luka thanks to the investment, work and long-term effort of spouses Anito and Zeljka Separovic.

Image may contain: 2 people, people smiling, people standing, fire and food

In addition to the relaxing colours and the sophisticated decorations, the first thing that has caught our eye while observing these two houses, is previously mentioned fantastic view which can be enjoyed from the spacious terraces (one of which has an outdoor kitchen), and, thanks to the large glass walls, from the comfort of the living room as well.

These facilities are extremely comfortable and they can accommodate from 6 to 10 people. The first of the two houses features five bedrooms and three bathrooms.

While they are equipped with unavoidable amenities such as Wi-Fi and satellite TV, and the very attractive ones such as a fireplace / garden with a fireplace-various forms of entertainment are also in store for the guests of Paradise- Vela Luka holiday homes. There is an amusement salon where you can play table tennis, billiards and foosball and if you opt for a more active vacation, you can exercise at Orbitrac or play basketball at a nearby playground. The youngest guests can also enjoy the toboggan on the beach while the sea-lovers can enjoy kayaking or the super-popular SUP (stand up position) skateboard decks and jumps into the enchanting blue sky.

ABUNDANCE OF CONTENTS. Apart from the luxurious, eye-catching interior, our attention was drawn to the variety of carefully selected and designed contents that will make your stay unique and allow you to discover all the charms of the island. Great way to do this is to take one day excursions and reach destinations of up to 7km distance – discover the beautiful bays ideal for swimming, and visit the wine cellars where you will taste some of the finest wines which have put this island on the world wine maps!

In addition, you will taste a wine drop of homemade wine during Dalmatian dinners organized by your friendly hosts who will also offer freshly caught fish and their home – grown salad.

If you want to be sea wolves at least for one day, it is possible to rent a 5-meter boat ideal for exploring Vela Luka Bay. The boat will be waiting for you below your holiday house. If you do not wish to take your own boat trip, there are other appealing offers carefully designed by your hosts – a 15-person boat trip that will take you to the fascinating island of Proizd- famous for its pebble beach of Bili boci, which thanks to the white rocks plunging in the turquoise sea, increases jealousy on social networks! Enjoy sailing around the island with delicacies and wine at your disposal, and if you wish to go fishing, opt for night fishing – an adventure you should not miss!

Although we think that there are plenty visually appealing locations ideal for your relaxation, to make the experience complete, you can also hire a personal massage therapist.

FIVE- STAR WORTH VALUE EXPERIENCE

Great visual and gastronomic experience as well as fifteen –year boat rental experience of your hosts are a sure guarantee of one thing – the stay at Paradise summer house is truly divine.

Those who have spent some time here, know that this is not just empty words – in tourist terms – it is a five- star worth value experience.

That’s Seget, an idyllic place for an escape from frenetic every-day life! You will find many praises for Seget – for hospitality of hosts and their knowledge of foreign languages, and as well for accommodation tidiness and neatness and really great food – guests are delighted by luxurious big meals, especially for breakfast, whether in private accommodation, restaurants in one of the camps like Belvedere, or hotel facilities.

RERFESHING ADDITION. Although it is recognized as an oasis of relaxation, jealously kept as a kind of a secret, Seget had recently been added on maps of active vacation enthusiasts – especially the two-wheeled vacation! To meet the needs of those who prefer somewhat easier bike ride, but also of true adventurists on macadam roads, Seget offers two roads of different difficulty levels – Health road and Napoleon’s way – marked by adequate signalization and equipped with all useful objects and contents.

13.1.2017.

Worshippers will set off on the pilgrimage route to the Miraculous Madonna of Sinj on marked paths through picturesque landscapes rich with historical heritage. On their spiritual path to the heavenly mother they will pass relics of old paths and bridges, forts, tombstones, sacred places and buildings, and museums.

The Image of the Miraculous Madonna of Sinj was brought from Rama to Sinj in 1687 by the Franciscans who fled from the Turks. Ever since, the faithful people have been coming to their saviour who, according to the legend, has defended them when they were greatly outnumbered by the enemy in 1715.

Every year thousands of worshipers, especially the youth, set off on a pilgrimage towards the city of Sinj. The event takes place on the nights of the holiday dedicated to Our Lady of Sinj – from August 8th until August 15th, when the central ceremony is held. Accompanied by the sounds of church bells ringing and fanfares, the Image of the Miraculous Madonna of Sinj is brought from the church onto the streets for a grand procession. To carry the Image on one’s shoulder represents a great honour.

Worshippers arrive from several directions, mostly from the south, from Solin, and from the north, from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our Lady of Sinj Route is 148km long spanning from Solin – Sinj – Livno – Tomislavgrad – Rama. It is a pilgrimage used through centuries to travel from several different directions to the largest Madonna sanctuary in southern Croatia. Our Lady of Sinj Route project is approved within the IPA Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina project and relies on the traditional walking and riding paths, as well as the abandoned route of Rera, which was once Sinj’s railway.

staza_gospi_sinjskoj

By developing the accompanying infrastructure and raising awareness of immense value of cultural and religious heritage, the Our Lady of Sinj route is slowly superseding local frames and is gaining an international dimension. The route is active throughout the whole year, not just in the period of the holiday.

It is a unique experience to set on an ancient religious journey by foot, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, to find peace and sanctuary in the safety of Our Lady of Sinj.

Quality accommodation plays a crucial role in- one would say unforgettable vacation- and this is well known to the management of Hum hotels. Their most valuable assets include  Adria, Posejdon and Jadran  hotels.

Apart from the hotels, Vela Luka abounds with gastronomic, cultural and sports offer which enables its guests to fully enjoy the holiday of their dreams. In addition to the hotel offer, there is also a wide range of private accommodation available in Vela Luka including the most attractive private locations at the highest tourist standards.

The secluded location and the beautiful surroundings of a peaceful Plitvine bay present one of the most wonderful features of the Adria hotel. Moreover, a breathtaking sea view will make your memories unforgettable.

Adria can boast with 127 well furnished rooms as well as an inviting outdoor swimming pool ideal for sunbathing and enjoying wonderful cool summer drinks. Aside from the swimming pool, there is a spacious terrace that would facilitate the escape from a hectic everyday routine even to the most stubborn workaholics.

Adria hotel – a Pet friendly hotel

Feel free to bring your furry family members along on your holiday. If you own a pet, it is highly probable that you do not want to leave it behind even during your vacation. Adria offers an accommodation as well as a dog friendly beach which should meet your requirements. Bringing your pet on holiday with you could be a priceless experience.

A modern two- storey- building – Posejdon hotel is no less appealing to your eyes. Aside from neat, nicely decorated rooms, it also guarantees a relaxing atmosphere on the beach, at Havana beach bar or at the terrace that offers a wonderful view of Vela Luka bay. There is also a diving centre in the vicinity of the hotel- great news for all sea enthusiastic as well as researches of underwater flora and fauna.

Guests of younger age will certainly be delighted with a simple, yet tastefully decorated Jadran hotel just five minutes away from the town center. Jadran, along with the first two hotels, boasts a very attractive gastronomic offer with many Dalmatian delicacies!

PET FRIENDLY VACATION DESTINATION! If you wonder why you should visit Vela Luka, bear in mind that this is one of the friendliest and the most accessible destinations in Croatia.

In addition, should you find the beautiful clear sea, or the proximity of the legendary islet of love – Ošjak, inspiring, you can also experience the kissing spot and share a romantic moment with your soul mate! This islet with its unique atmosphere, deprived of every trace of urban life, is only ten minutes- boat ride away from the town of Vela Luka.

We also believe that you surely do not want to miss the island of Proizd, whose famous Bili boci beach on its northern side was ranked by the renowned Daily Telegraph among the 5 most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic!

Furthermore, the sight of the white rocks plunging into the turquoise sea (aesthetics worthy of the visually most elegant Hollywood productions, such as those on James Bond) will become a true envy generator on social networks!

But that is not all – keep in mind that Vela Luka is also a destination that has a lot to offer to lovers of tangible and intangible cultural heritage – from the impressive Kumpanija – colorful sword dance and attractive mosaics in the town centre that you just cannot afford to miss, to the baba and dida (grandmother and grandfather- in Croatian) – extremely preserved skeletal tombs nicknamed by the witty locals. These are merely fractions of interesting attractions hidden by the intriguing cave site named Vela spila.

There are also stunning beaches and coves (which can be visited by boat trips), the regatta in honour of St. John, trekking race… Adrenaline lovers will definitely not be disappointed.

Finally, regardless of your preferences, by choosing Hum Hotels for your welcoming host you will experience a tailor-made vacation of your dreams!

SINJ PERFORMANCE
Under cover of August night, when sultry summer days are relieved only for a short time by its fresh air, there are two acts to be played. The first act starts at the Pijaca, the main town square, when the Ottomans conquer the town of Sinj, burn the church down and take the people into slavery. An effective performance is given by the members of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (HGSS) who, dressed in Ottoman costumes, climb down roofs of the surrounding buildings, in that way faithfully evoking the feeling of panic of the people of Sinj facing the violent enemy.

Riding triumphantly in a coach, Mustafa Pasha Čelić announces in an overbearing manner that the Sinj fortress will be conquered without difficulty, while at the same time the Fortress at the Old Town shelters the people and a handful of defenders, together with the painting of the Mother of God. The second acttakes place at the Old Town, where the Defence Council take the decision to defend their town from the enemy much superior to the mand stronger than them.

The act also shows Pasha’s tent, wild parties and rage of the Ottomans after the people of Sinj have refused to surrender. Several times the Ottoman shave attempted to taketheFortress by storm, but their attacks have been successfully repulsed. After the painting of the Madonna is carried in procession led by Father Pavao, a messengerbrings news: ‘The Ottomans are now in flight! ‘ Sinj camp is thrilled and the grateful people, defenders, friars and officers, standing in front of the image of the Madonna, sing a thanks giving song ‘Oh, the Madonna of Sinj, Holy Virgin…’

Te eighth staging of the 1715 battle and the preceding events is to take place, in order to commemorate glorious defence of Sinj from the Ottoman invasion and a wonderful moment when the Mother of Mercy protected her people from enemy violence. It is a moment which has marked the history and the identity of Sinj, a moment being revived by the heroic Alka and worship of the Miraculous Madonna of Sinj, victory of faith and harmony of the Sinj knights, and hope for the help of their heavenly patroness.

THE END OF SUMMER – ONLY ON CALENDER! On Hvar summer ends only on calendar – this is well known to all travellers and those in love with this island, but also to head people of Sunčani Hvar Hotels – experts in hotel industry. Therefore they have designed attractive offer which will be gladly taken by every connoisseur of Hvar tourist facilities – the one in Indian summer, appropriately named Neverending summer!

EVERYONE WANTS TO SEE HVAR, especially during high summer season, so a visit after hot summer and crowd is – a real privilege! Namely, due to mild climate and very pleasant temperatures, in September you can still bathe, facilities are open, but not too crowdy as in high season, so it seems like a wise thing to book your visit in atypical month as September! Attractive hotels like Pharos, Amfora, Palace and Riva offer 10 % discount for minimum stay of three nights during this period!

MODERN, EXCITING AND ULTRA-POPULAR Sunčani Hvar hotels are a proof that this town profoundly understands tourism. No wonder, since the beginnings of tourism in Hvar can be traced back to 1868, when first professional tourist association was founded here.

Every hotel in Sunčani Hvar chain is worth a visit, but we especially liked the Riva hotel, tucked in century old edifice at the very heart of Hvar’s waterfront – centre of all fashionable events. Great impression is strengthened by creatively designed rooms that rely on charm of great movie stars who watch us from cute boards, while the game of light and shadow and bathrooms divided by glass are a guarantee for true relaxation for all those in search for a hotel with a character!

With its attractive pool and huge, classy entrance hall which resembles a scene from some kind of elegant James Bond movie, real movie-like experience is offered by hotel Pharos surrounded with pine trees and olives. Together with its attractive interior it enchants as well with its aura of a place that successfully combines island’s atmosphere with other cultures and people! Quality service and outstanding features are characteristic of hotel Amfora and of iconic Palace hotel on elite location of Hvar Pjaca – this is the oldest Hvar’s hotel with no expiration date!

ADDITIONAL OFFER. During Hvar’s endless summer, tourist packages are available at considerably lower prices in these hotels, but each of them has additional packages which you can choose according to your preferences. Explore Hvar by bike and enjoy in mild island climate and scents of Mediterranean herbs.

You can also cycle in pair and treat yourselves to a chocolate treatment in Sensora Spa facilities in Amfora hotel! Somewhat more romantic guests of Amfora will gladly choose theme package Sailing with sunset, and for a romantic escape from frenetic everyday life visit hotel Adriana and enjoy in champagne, steam bath and nicely decorated rooms.

Hotel Alhambra, Mali Lošinj

Authentic experience for the top of world demand in elite tourism

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED how a travel itinerary of a modern globetrotter with  high purchasing power looks like?

Hotel Meneghetti, Istra

While marble bathrooms and golden pipes used to be highly appreciated, time have significantly changed. Namely, modern guests know that this type of luxury can be found even in their home place, and what, in their opinion is worth of gold is all about – authenticity!

Villa Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik

Indeed, whether it’s a traditional sweet made in a specific way in a specific place, display of original customs or preserved piece of history or culture, traveller of this age (and with a lot of money) will look for something he/she cannot find anywhere else!

REDEFINITION OF LUXURY. That unique experience is highly appreciated is very clear to head people of a Group of Unique Luxury Hotels under a common name “Stories, Croatian Unique Hotels”.

Hotel Heritage Martinis Marchi, Šolta

Among 17 domestic luxury facilities located along the Adriatic coast which are a part of this group, there are all true stars – Kazbek, The Pucić Palace and Villa Dubrovnik in Dubrovnik, The Hotel Adriana in Hvar, hotels Adriatic, Meneghetti, San Rocco and Valamar Isabella in Istria, Lešić Dimitri palace in Korčula, Hotel Alhambra in Mali Lošinj, hotels Bevanda and Navis in Opatija, Hotel Vestibul Palace in Splitu, Hotel Life Palace and D-Resort in Šibenik, palace Martinis Marchi on Šolta and Hotel Bastion in Zadar.

Hotel Adriatic, Istra

Nenad Nizić, president of Group of Unique Luxury Hotels

According to the president of Group of Unique Luxury Hotels with Croatian Chamber of Commerce, Nenad Nizić, positioning our homeland as exclusive destination is exactly one of the goals of common appearance of these facilities, whose two restaurants have been included in Micheline guide! Apart from luxury service, what these facilities also have in common is the awareness of the staff that authentic experience has come to the very top od world demand when it comes to elite tourism.

Hotel Bastion, Zadar

Hotel Alhambra, Mali Lošinj

LOCATION IS IMPORTANT. If it is to judge by the most recent tourist trends, guests with high purchasing power rather stay in facilities hidden in old town cores or among olive groves of former noblemen properties, of which – as the name of the brand – Stories – suggests – each offers some of its specific stories.

Slogan “You are the writer” that accompanies this project, encourages modern customers to share their experience with others, which is one of the best and most efficient recommendations in era of social networks. Namely, hotel tucked in a city palace, or on the rock above the sea, apart from being a great shelter from chaotic everyday life, is an excellent topic (and real, as modern Internet terminology suggests – envy challenger) for attractive Facebook or Instagram post!

Villa Meneghetti, Istra

Eva LaRue, Nenad Nizić

Eva LaRue, became an ambassador of new Croatian brand Group of  Unique Luxury Hotels  – Stories

Famous actress in CSI Miami, Eva LaRue, in March became an ambassador of new Croatian brand Group of  Unique Luxury Hotels  – Stories, Croatian Unique Hotels. This luxury lover, in two-week visit to Croatia, stayed in unique Stories hotels on our coast, and wrote about her experience on her blog and Instagram profile.

Hotel Vestibul, Split

CELEBRATION OF HISTORY AND CULTURE. Gershon Guyit, Nigerian ambassador in Hungary, briefly described a star among these luxury hotels – Hotel Vestibul. According to him, this edifice, awarded with many excellency certificates and acknowledgments of even strict Tripadvisor, is a real celebration of history, art and culture! Hotel got other numerous prestigious awards so renowned world travel magazine “Conde Nast Traveller“, enlisted it among 25 best world hotels.

Intrigued by attractive hotel story we looked at Vestibul interior as well, and the thrill was instant – elegant minimalist design, classy rooms in earthy colours; high quality kitchen inspired by modern trends and luxurious wine card, will satisfy even the most demanding guests.

But still, dazzling high prices on international travel sites are a result of one of its strongest advantages – unique location at the very heart of Split old town core is different from anything guests have seen and experienced so far.

Resort Valamar Isabella, Istra

Therefore, if we have been in search for X factor to add to our domestic tourism an extra dose of attractiveness – our search has just finished!

FACTORS OF TOURIST ATTRACTION. When you have one of the rarest preserved fortification systems that is believed to be the longest wall in Europe, and the second longest in the world (after the Chinese Wall, of course!), wouldn’t it be a shame not to make it one of the strongest advantages of your tourist offer?

This is precisely the way leading men of Ston tourism feel, who decided not only to renew their heritage, but to complement it with new programs and contents. This way results of the fight against the biggest problem of national tourism – seasonality, wouldn’t be only partial. For a sharp tourist eye there is no doubt here – potential of Ston is too big to keep presenting the sun and the sea as main tourist products, in the presence of impressive walls and wine and gastronomic luxury!

The extent and diversity of this project, called History on a grain of salt, is proven by the colours of its logo, on which every colour symbolizes a specific piece of tourist attraction of this destination (green colour, for example, represents Napoleon’ Road and green surfaces, cultural heritage is represented by blue colour, gastronomy with yellow, wine making with dark red and tourism by pink).

Value of this project has been recognized and supported by European funds, while local experts dived into business with a lot of enthusiasm.

Because of this, by March 2019 Veliki Kaštio and Koruna forts should shine in their full glow again, as well as Komarda park and a stretch of south wall of Ston Walls. Ston lapidarium will be renewed, Ston part of Napoleon Road expanded and ”Pelješac – wine empire” theme road will be upgraded. Furthermore, this valuable cultural heritage will be additionally spiced up with sophisticated wine and gastro offer and special programs.

When we add to all this attractive marketing tools – from city light and Internet advertising, to international tourist  fairs and extremely popular social networks – the fastest promotors of attractive destinations, it is clear that Ston has recruited all its tourist  forces and that discouraging figures of only 42 days of utilization of local accommodation capacity per year – will soon be forgotten!.

EMBLEMAITC INGREDIENT. In order to become truly recognizable destination and present its guests local history and culture in an interesting way, Ston has, being aware that worthy heritage is not sufficient by itself, decided to breath in – a grain of life! To accomplish this, it used its emblematic factor x, an ingredient that has played a vital role in the history of this destination – and this is, of course, its remarkable salt, so precious in ancient time it was called white gold!

Thus, salt plays the main role in wisely designed program for visitors – Cum grano salis, which can be seen twice a week from June to September. Without any doubt, all those who are interested in presentation of production, harvesting and transportation of salt, building an impressive protection system and artfulness of Dubrovnik’s merchants who traded with salt all over the world, will participate in this dramatic interpretation in intriguing ambience of Veliki Kaštio fort, located at the side of Ston Saltworks!

VERSATILE EXPERIENCE. Those who enjoy cultural heritage will attend, with the same amount of interest, another program closely tied to fortification system – night ambience-theatrical (!) tour of Ston sights. Innovative and detail tour of Ston Walls, which includes Veliki Kaštio, Koruna and Podzvizd forts, intriguing locations as Rector’s Palace, Bishop’s Palace, Main Guard, Placa and cathedral, famous saltworks and dramatized presentation of shellfish farming, is with a good reason called – Secrets of Ston!

Namely, this tour generously offers all its little-known events, legends and hidden places. Before the eyes of even 60 visitors real and fictional characters will come to life, presenting history and former life of this destination – from late antiquity, Nemanjić dynasty and Kotromanić ban, to ties with Dubrovnik Republic.

And as icing on the cake, visitors will be offered traditional delicious refreshment as well as a performance of local cultural association. When we see how much effort and contents have been put into this program, we want to ”teleport” ourselves to Ston, at least three times a week, and enjoy in this – to eyes, ears and palates – truly pleasant and versatile experience.

STREGHTENING OF CAPACITIES. Ston’s determination not to let anything happen by chance, is shown by the effort in educating workers in cultural and tourist sector, and two public debates for wider public whose goal is raising awareness about the importance and potential of cultural heritage. Education for tourist workers is going to be held as carefully designed workshops, which will cover everything – from Ston history and its legends and stories (which will, we believe, be more than familiar to kind Ston’s hosts, after they have listened all the lectures) to communication skills and using modern technology in presentation of cultural heritage and presentation skills in serving food and drink! Awareness of the fact that quality offer reaches to local man as a subject in tourism is a strong advantage of this truly ambitious and promising project.

LIKE TRUE NOBLEMEN. Ston attractions in combination with renewable resources, kind, skilful and informed hosts and creative ways of presentation sound more irresistible than ever. When you are able to be proud of specific atmosphere of  a Medieval town, walls fortified with forts and towers, the oldest – and still active! – saltworks in entire Europe, refreshing oysters (which conquered even the greatest conqueror – Napoleon!), one of the most renowned wine varieties (legendary Plavac mali), tourist tour that offers the best of the best ; and you manage to wrap it all up in super attractive tourist product…all the chances are that your guests will feel like – true noblemen!

Our impression is that leading men of Ston’s tourism were aiming g exactly at this, and to tourist public of the world, it is precisely creative and highly individualised approach to guests what matters the most, together with original and authentic contents. Ston has a trump up its sleeve in all the mentioned categories, so all we can do is wish it a great tourist future!

Dinara_Biking_1

THE FLOURISHING OF TOURISM. The leading people of Dalmatian tourism have realised long ago that Dalmatian Zagora is the undiscovered gem of the region – and rolled up their sleeves!

They introduced a new concept of bycicle routes to this intriguing area of beautiful pristine nature, bringing local specialties to their guests’ tables, and moving klapa and sophisticated blues sounds to the town sqares. Apart from the tastily decorated apartments, they welcomed their guests in the increasingly popular luxury homes with swimming pools, and all in all, offered a top-notch service. Read our article and find out why precisely Dalmatian hinterland, tucked away behind the buzz of Split, caught our attention – join us in visiting Dugopolje, Klis, Vrlika, Sinj and Trilj!

  1. UNIQUE GASTRO EXPERIENCE. Understandably, when it comes to their visit to Dugopolje, gastronomads will firstly choose the treats for the palate! And is there a better idea, than the prosciutto that won numerous local gastronomic contests? The specific taste and the uniform reddish color of the champion delicacy creatively named Smjeli (eng. The Brave) are the result of the strong Dalmatian bura associated with mild exposure to smoke and drying in a natural way.

Check out why this prosciutto won so many gastronomic golden plate awards, and should you prefer some other trophies – the sports ones! – you shouldn’t be dissapointed as well! Dugopolje offers a handful of tournaments and races where you can have loads of fun as a spectator or even as a participant!

On June 11, don’t miss the Dugopolje Grand Prix – 3rd international road bicycle race organized by cycling club “Marjan” from Split, as well as athletic race at 21 km – the 2nd in the row Dugopolje semi-marathon in September! The fans of the bocce ball tournaments will be thrilled with the 2nd International Bocce Tournament Koprivno 2017, organized by the bocce club „Sokol“ from Dugopolje, while lovers of American football will gladly visit Growth of a game camp (4. – 06.08.). Not a sports fan? You can go shopping at the outlet stores of the Podi Economic Zone, or see the truly wonderful natural phenomenon – Vranjača Cave!

2. THE THRILLS OF TRILJ. A new attraction for lovers of sophisticated music proves that Dalmatian hinterland has a truly quality tourism offer. Thrill Blues Festival (July 14) at the Trilj city park is an epitome of a well-known Latin proverb: nomen est omen – according to the lineup, it sure will be quite exciting! Trilj and Sinj blues forces – „DBLUZ“ and „Ozone“, Eric Sardinas & Big Motor from LA, “Black Mountain” from Kotor, Rijeka’s guitarist Hal known all over the world, and the  „Sunnysiders“ – band of the artistic director of the festival – musician Boris Hrepić Hrepo, guarantee a top portion of blues!

But, the Trilj novelties do not end here – in June there is also opening of the reconstructed Stari most (eng. Old bridge), the former iron bridge whose construction began in 1878 under the watchful eye of the emperor Franjo Josip I., and the launch of the Cetina beaches project is also expected! If you visit this intriguing place, expect some legendary attractions – both tasty ones (Days of Komin, Pura and Brozin, Gastronomic Folk Festival – July 27) and those to suit all tastes (the indispensable Feast of St. Mihovil, September 29).

There is also a number of possibilities for lovers of nature, adventure and adrenaline (from QUAD adventure, much-adored rafting, kayaking and canoe safari on Cetina river, to the great bicycle tours that will bring you closer to the 600 years old watermills – Grabske mlinice, Kamešnica mountain and Village of Voštane!).

3. WELL-KNOWN BRANDS OF KLIS – THE TASTIEST LAMB DISHES… AND GAME OF THRONES! No fan of the planetary popular „Game of Thrones“ series, would fail to recognize in Klis one of its most emblematic filming locations – the ancient Meereen! Resorceful guides of the „Game of Thrones“ thematic tour will make sure that you don’t miss a single detail relevant to the series, and the rocky building located on the very tip of the abrupt and from all sides inaccessible gorge between Mosor and Kozjak, will reward you with a magnificent view of Split and Dalmatia!

The authentic impression of old times can be best experienced during the scenic spectacle „Battle for Klis“ (end of July), but this is merely the only event worth visiting – enjoy the performances and concerts of the Klis Cultural Summer, especially the traditional multipart (klapa) singing! You will soon discover why Klis is much-adored by gastronomads (try its traditional dishes like top-quality lamb, uljenak, lentils, octopus and beans stew!), and by adrenaline enthusiasts too – it hosts two attractive cycling races – the Grebbening and the XCM Atrium spring trophy!

4. VRLIKA – THE PLACE OF THE MOST BELOVED OPERA HERO… AND OF THE TASTIEST FRIED PASTRY IN THE WORLD! The picturesque Vrlika, marked by the mountain, the Cetina River and Lake Peruča, has managed to unite such peculiarities in a relatively small space! It is much loved for its numerous active vacation possibilities – biking, riding, jeep safaris, canoeing, kayaking, rowing, hiking, trekking, hunting and fishing – and it will be especially exciting in June for its unique two-day bike tournament – Camping & Biking Vrlika 2017!

vrlička nošnja muški_1

Neither the lovers of sightseeing will be dissapointed here – they will be interested in taking a tour of the Church of St. Salvation (Cro. Sv. Spas) with the oldest bell tower in Croatia (9th century), the archaeological site of Koljani and the Česma from the time of Emperor Franjo Josip. Precisely this is a place of staging the famous „Ero from another world“ opera every July, about a cunning serf who manages to outwit two Turks. This opera over time became a trademark of Vrlika and its ambassador around the world, and it is an incredible experience to watch it in its natural environment! The same goes for the impressive Vrlika silent circle dance, a part of the UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage, but also for the – traditional fried pastry (uštipci)! Do not miss the International fried pastry competition in August, and make some pleasant gastronomic memories! An excellent choice of all these attractions will be available to you during the The evening of Singing, Dancing and Folk Costumes (July 22), while the town atmosphere is definitely most cheerful on October 7 (the Day of the City and the Feast of Our Lady of Rosary).

5. SINJ – HEADING TO HEROIC CITY THIS SUMMER TOO. Sinj is simply irresistible – both to the eye and ear, to the heart and soul – and to the palate too! The city which had ice cream on its menus back in 1838, enchants its visitors with the sophisticated blend of the Mediterranean, Oriental and continental cuisine – and not just gastronomads!

Who could resist the famous arambaše, or delicacies like fried frogs, freshwater crabs buzara, cetina trout, paired with Sinj wines – hrvaština and maraština? And, what is even better, these specialties are the tastiest part of the most celebrated and beloved Sinj manifestations, hugely visited despite the unbearable summer heat – the Sinj Alka and the feast day of Our Lady!

DSC_1331

Although for most people these two events are a reason enough to visit this truly special city, many of them also want to take a tour of the Museum of the Sinj Alka, and during the rehearsals preceding the main competition, the city has about 40,000 visitors! Those looking for meditation and peace will gladly visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sinj as well as new thematic trail towards Our Lady’s city. It is hard to believe that the quiet and traditional Sinj has a wild adrenaline side, but there you can also go horseback riding, paragliding, enjoy the attractive biking routes or go for a QUAD adventure!

The city also has a sports aerodrome, visited by numerous sailors, sky divers and modellers. There is also a number of competitons – from the „City Challenge“ and „Cetina Adventure“ race (June 3), to the 5th „To the source of Cetina“ („Do izvora Cetine“) bycicle race (June 11), National Sailing Championship (July 2-9), Sinj Air Show (August 19) and the Traditional International Galloping Races in September.

Sinj thought also of music lovers – they will surely enjoy SARS – Alternative Culture Festival (July 21 and 22) and Gljevstock on June 3 – a festival of music, love and socializing! And for July 7, the heroic city has prepared a real treat – the sophisticated rhythms of top musicians – the Sudar Percussion ensemble!

Still in doubt that Dalmatian Zagora can be really exciting? Summer 2017 is a great opportunity to give it a chance to prove you’re wrong!

In final two Aleksandras have met – Serbian Krunić and Romanian Cadabtu, while exhibitionist “rematch” after 20 years was played between Iva Majoli and Martina Hingis.

3. CHARIOTS OF FIRE ON GOLDEN CAPE! That Bol goes hand in hand with art, elegance and beauty is proven by numerous beauty contests and fashion photo-sessions held there, and many show-business artists recognized it as an ideal scenography for their videos.

World famous 2Cellos decided to make Golden Cape a great background for their interpretation of the song Chariots of Fire – a theme from the same-named movie, based on a true story of two athletes who, wishing to overcome prejudice and strengthen their beliefs, competed on Olympic Games 1924.

Only a few minutes walk from Golden Cape beach, in the Elaphusa Hotel, another music treat will be held outside high season – Bol Soul Festival (7 – 14 October, 2017) is a real thing for music enthusiasts and those who will become ones!

4. YOU LIKE A GOOD DROP? DISCOVER WINE MAGICC! To really understand how Bol people discovered some kind of wine magic, we have to go back to 1903, when wine from Stina winery in the very centre of the place got its first medal in International Wine Exhibition in Paris!

Hard work of locals is woven into distinctive taste of these wines that ripen in sunny wine yards – many of which are located on very scarce, inaccessible land, which nevertheless gives some of most luxurious wine varieties.

Enjoy in sweet, mild and creamy taste of prošek, abundant bouquet of red and black fruits of plavac mali or bold fruity richness of pošip; and all these wines have already been awarded on international competitions!

5. SEARCH FOR A GRAIN OF ADRENALINE…ON THE SEA AND THE LAND! Bol has good news for those who enjoy in recreation even during the summer. Thanks to ideal atmosphere conditions and steady west wind – maestral, there you can do kiteboarding and windsurfing, and if you prefer sea depths, explore underwater beauties of Bol waters with help of some of diving clubs that offer diving courses and programmes both for beginners and professionals.

To somewhat braver guests we recommend to try to tackle with praised cycling roads and enjoy in a ride with crickets call, romantic bells from local churches and scents of Mediterranean herbs!

7. BOL CULTURAL SUMMER – SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE! Bol’s Summer Nights which are held every Wednesday, theatre shows in Taetrin, night of debut klapas (acappela singing) when klapas for Omiš Klapa Festival are being chosen, Names Festival that unites word, images, sounds, acting and – good food, music-creative festival for the young Graffiti on the gradele (Graffitti on grill)…are only some of wide choice of events in Bol among which everyone can find something for themselves.

While watching materials of these manifestations, one lovely graffiti brought a smile on our face –  “Brač on Bo”# – it is a piece of street wisdom which once again showed that Bol is the island’s centre of beauty and exclusivity.

A vacation is not a vacation if it doesn’t have a bit of excitement? If you nodded in confirmation to this sentence, you are at the right place – what you’re looking for is Omiš!

ZIPLINE – DO NOT FORGET YOUR SMARTPHNE! Because this is the adventure you’re going to want to record, and which will attract a lot of envy on social media! A flight above a the Cetina canyon using steel ropes is one of the recent attractions that became famous and listed among the most spectacular ones very quickly. Namely, how else to describe three-hour rush on two kilometres long wires placed on a height of more than 100 metres? Warning: only for the brave ones!

GOOD OL’ RATFTING on the Cetina river is an activity whose lure doesn’t diminish, and all the more guests every year want to tackle its rapids! But, adjustability is a great characteristic of this river adventure – families with children and older persons can enjoy in slow paddling on calmer areas, with untouched nature. A peaceful excursion or an adrenaline rafting bomb – decide for yourselves!

THE SAME GOES FOR KAYAKING – depending on chosen route, you can choose a level of difficulty (and excitement!), while canyoning is the most comprehensive story that combines walking along (and through!) the Cetina; it is a unique experience of bathing under waterfalls and conquering river rapids!

IF YOU RATHER STICK TO THE LAND, you have at your disposal carefully arranged theme roads that lead to the highest surrounding mountains, old pirate forts, beautiful belvederes and picturesque villages, and you can also go on a hiking or trekking adventure on steep hills – Omiš Dinara, Komorjak and Mosor used to serve as a natural protection from enemies, but today they are ideal mountaineering location.

OF COURSE, THIS IS STILL A COASTAL TOWN, so it’s no wonder you can find great locations for diving there – on only 3 metres of depth near central town’s beach, there is a sunken ship from World War 2, and more experienced divers will be delighted by one of the best diving locations in Crotia – Vruja bay!

For those who like the surface more that diving over 100 m (which is alowed only with the help of experts!), will be pleased with sailing on board – if you don’t like it, it only means you haven’t tried it, say Omiš people – and they’re right!

IT’S NO WONDER PIRATED USED TO BE THERE – this is what you’ll probably think after looking at the list of Omiš sports manifestations. It’s like adventure spirit lingered on this area and instead of pirate duels, turned into those where physical fitness and competitive spirit play the key role!

Dalmatia Ultra Trail is an exciting race in postseason (from 20 – 22 October 2017) which will take you to the most attractive points of Central Dalmatia. 2nd Omiš half-marathon (30 September 2017) will invigorate the participants with a  view of truly perfect Mediterranean ambience and carvings of the Cetina River, which created of one the most beautiful canyons in Europe!

But, these are not the only sports competitions – in March 5th Imbertrek was held, in May 11th Mosor Grebbening (trekking race on rocks and slopes of Mosor) and 6th Mountaineering Festival; and 29 July is reserved for 24th Omiš Swimming Marathon. As these are mainly acclaimed manifestations,
