It wins you over at\nfirst glance with its architecture and culture!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dol is an oasis of peace and tranquility, just 2 kilometers\nfrom Postira, where the houses traditionally covered with stone slabs will leave\nyou breathless at the very entrance &#8211; just like the marvelous, grainy caves\nmade from hrapo\u0107u\u0161a stone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/croatia.hr\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/image_full_width\/public\/2019-01\/Hrapocusa-arhiva-tzo-postira.jpg?itok=4ddgucVn\" alt=\"Image result for dol hrapo\u0107u\u0161a kamen\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.croatiaimages.com\/places\/598\/dalmatia-brac-dol-croatia-5-720x480.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for dol bra\u010d\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>These caves used to be human dwellings and the basis for later upgraded houses, but today they are shelters for cattle, pigeons, owls and even the alleged mythical creatures which are to be discussed later &#8211; and they have also served as an inspiration for a truly special cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kastilgospodnetic.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/09\/img_3340.jpg?w=377&amp;h=\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You will also be charmed by the picturesque churches that can be reached along properly arranged footpaths, such as the church of Sv. Mihovil from the beginning of the 10th century, or St. Petra from the 11th century &#8211;&nbsp; where you can see the oldest bell on the island of Bra\u010d!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kastilgospodnetic.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/05\/cropped-img_28632.jpg\" alt=\"ka\u0161til gospodneti\u0107\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Beautiful Dol castles\nwhich hide great food within them<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is there a better spectacle for the palate than local\ntraditional delicacies seasoned with true hospitality? The enthusiastic guests\nof the Ka\u0161tila Gospodneti\u0107 Castle in Dol, a building which dominates the view\nof the place with its reddish wall colour in contrast to the famous,\nold-fashioned green, wooden shutters, all agree &#8211; there is nothing better!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kastilgospodnetic.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/05\/img_5282.jpg?w=745&amp;h=&amp;crop=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Just look at the reviews on Tripadvisor, which are bursting with praise. Perhaps they can best be summed up by a gentleman from distant, cold Moscow, who enthusiastically writes: \u201cI wouldn&#8217;t call this a restaurant. Rather an experience!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kastilgospodnetic.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/05\/dsc_0530.jpg?w=875&amp;h=\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The famous octopus under the bell and delicious lamb from the spit, to put it mildly, did not go unnoticed, and the ovations of foodies with sweet teeth were also picked up by a juicy orange cake and the domestic variant of a hearty Plavac mali! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kastilgospodnetic.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/05\/dsc09999_35.jpg?w=747&amp;h=\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it would be a sin to talk about Dol gastronomy, and not mention the most special homemade dessert &#8211; check out why the famous Dol hrapo\u0107u\u0161a cake made it to the list of intangible cultural assets of the Republic of Croatia!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"675\" src=\"http:\/\/hotspots.net.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_3172-1024x675.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-39162\" srcset=\"https:\/\/croatia-hotspots.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_3172.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/croatia-hotspots.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_3172-300x198.jpg 300w, https:\/\/croatia-hotspots.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_3172-768x506.jpg 768w, https:\/\/croatia-hotspots.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_3172-110x73.jpg 110w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Take Maci\u0107a and\nVivera\u2019s path<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, just so that one doesn\u2019t think one can just eat well\nin Dol, it\u2019s worth knowing that this is a favourite destination for hikers and\ncyclists, because it can be reached by well-maintained roads and trails from\nvarious directions, and intriguing themed trails run through the place itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.villa-dol.com\/site\/images\/environment\/dol\/54.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for postira staza\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And when we say intriguing &#8211; we really mean it! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Intriguing is precisely what the hilly asphalt-gravel track of\nMaci\u0107a and Vivera is.
