Locals especially like it, tourists find it attractive, so the house got a name The House of a Happy Man.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.almissa.com\/HOUSE%20OF%20A%20HAPPY%20MAN.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for Ku\u00c4\u0087a sretnog \u00c4\u008dovjeka\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Relaxed lifestyle, perfect climate and beautiful landscape shaped by the Cetina canyon, the sea and Dinara mountain make Omi\u0161 people truly fortunate. Their town is not just another attractive holiday destination on the Adriatic, but also a place of rich cultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/croatia.hr\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/image_full_width\/public\/2018-07\/Gusarska-bitka-3_ivan_peric_tz_omis.jpg?itok=QSPhAN3M\" alt=\"Pirates, Omi\u00c3\u0085\u00c2\u00a1\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Nemesis of\nSplit and Dubrovnik<\/strong>\n\nHistorians would probably\nstart from the beginning \u2013 two thousand years ago when Cetina mouth was being\ninhabited. But, we&#8217;ll skip all those centuries of long and turbulent past and\ntake you to 12th and 13th century, in time of Ka\u010di\u0107 princes who had the most\nfamous pirate fleet on the Adriatic. Striking everyone with fear, Omi\u0161&#8217;s\npirates charged free sailing to everyone who passed their town. \n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hotspots.net.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/the-most-beautiful-beaches-of-the-omis-riviera-1-l.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For almost two centuries they ruled this part of the Adriatic while attacking merchant ships of great maritime cities of Split, Dubrovnik, Kotor and Venice. They didn&#8217;t even flinch before Pope&#8217;s galleys sailing to Palestine. It was pope Honorius III who lost the First Crusade against Omi\u0161 people in 1221. 60 years later, in the Second Crusade, fought by Venetians on behalf of the Pope, Omi\u0161 pirates weren&#8217;t so lucky. Not long after the lost battle Ka\u010di\u010ds retrieved from the town, defeated and weakened, but not giving up piracy for a long time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.omisguitarfest.com\/images\/omis_mirabela1.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for mirabella omi\u00c5\u00a1\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It resisted the battles, but not a thunderstroke<\/strong> <br><br>As a permanent reminder of famous history above the old town stands fortress Mirabela\u2013 former pirate lookout from which entire Bra\u010d channel is visible, ensuring that no ship passes unspotted. Thanks to Byzantine coin found in its foundations its construction is dated back to the 13th century.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bestofcroatia.eu\/upload_data\/site_photos\/19944315020882699060938662_fotolia_55098466_subscription_monthly_m.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for mirabella omi\u00c5\u00a1\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Those foundations resisted numerous battles and wars, but not a thunderstorm 30 years ago, when a thunder stroke at the top of the fortress and demolished it completely. Today it is restored into its original shape and is a favourite tourist site. It is most easily reached by steps that start at Omi\u0161&#8217;s largest church \u2013 St. Michael&#8217;s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.livecamcroatia.com\/data\/public\/lokacije\/shutterstock_717911677.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for omi\u00c5\u00a1 gusari\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The biggest summer\nmanifestation in Dalmatia<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although they&#8217;ve given up piracy centuries ago, Omi\u0161\npeople still keep their sea agility, which is confirmed every 18 August. On\nthis day more than ten thousand visitors from all over the world come to Omi\u0161\nto enjoy in history revived and reconstruction of Pirate Battle between Omi\u0161\npeople and Venetians.
