Until 1995 it was merely a military base, an isolated island \u2013 today it is one of the most desirable destinations. Vela Srebrna, Rukavac, Smokva, Milna, Zaglav, Ston\u010dica\u2026 &#8211; are bays for sailors to truly enjoy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn.nautal.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/03\/6-playa-stiniva-croacia-ng.jpg?utm_source=nautal&amp;utm_campaign=post_segeltoern_kroatien_kornaten&amp;utm_medium=blog&amp;utm_content=imglink_bucht_von_stiniva\" alt=\"Related image\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Although it is not an easy task to decide on the most beautiful one, officially this title went to Stiniva in 2016. It is surrounded by two high cliffs, keeping small pebble beach inside them safe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.croatiaweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/CroatianTreasures.jpg\" alt=\"Related image\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In a stiff competition of 300 European beaches, 10 000 readers of <em>European Best Destination<\/em> portal gave their votes to this beach, located at the south side of the island of Vis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/komiza-ksenija.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/komiza-apartmani-ksenija011.jpg\" alt=\"Related image\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On this side there is also uninhabited Ravnik islet, famous for the attractive Green Cave. It is a worthy competitor to more famous the Blue Cave \u2013 located in Balun bay on Bi\u0161evo islet, only 5 nautical miles from Vis. In the Blue Cave sunrays penetrate through its vault, reflect of the seabed, giving the cave its mystique, unforgettable blue colour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hotspots.net.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/vis-2-743x515.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>About thirty planes, mostly bombers and pursuit planes from WW2 have been found in Vis waters and present a testimony of military history of the island. During WW2 Vis was an Italian military base, later on taken by the Allies to build military airport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/croatia.hr\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/image_full_width\/public\/2018-05\/bisevo-modra-spilja-optimizirano-za-tisak-zoran-jelaca_0.jpg?itok=228bV1cf\" alt=\"Image result for bi\u00c5\u00a1evo\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p> Today Vis waters attract divers from all over the world, who especially target three diving points with crashed planes: near Polivalo cape on the south side of the island, east from Bi\u0161evo and by Par\u017ean islet.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/croatia.hr\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/image_full_width\/public\/2018-11\/BI%C5%A0EVO-Porat-DJI_0386-Pano_ACR-aleksandar-gospic_0.jpg?itok=B8SkVua3\" alt=\"Image result for bi\u00c5\u00a1evo\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p> Although instead in marina, mooring places are on the local waterfront, Vis town has become an unavoidable hot spot in sailing across Dalmatia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.apartmanija.hr\/slike\/slike_gradovi\/vis-komiza.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for komi\u00c5\u00bea\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p> Ambience of this little place, attractive restaurants and rich cultural heritage present a reason enough to sail in to this quiet port. It can also be a great starting point for island exploration.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yogatrail.com\/sites\/default\/files\/event\/881227\/avatar.jpg\" alt=\"Related image\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure to visit Komi\u017ea, a place on the southwest of the island.
