The Festival of \u0161al\u0161a and salsa is a unique event in Ka\u0161tela organized for the 8th time by the Ka\u0161tela Tourist Board and the Society \u0160u\u0161ur at Igri\u0161\u0107e in Ka\u0161tel \u0160tafili\u0107. It&#8217;s an opportunity for everyone to try to cook the \u0161al\u0161a and dance the salsa.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-vie1-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/v\/t1.0-9\/13782064_1059219184156982_7058524112225888155_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0&amp;oh=6d76ec2d76af410abe046defda245fb8&amp;oe=5BF55335\" alt=\"Image may contain: one or more people, people dancing, people on stage and night\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Ka\u0161tela<\/h2>\n<p>The town of Ka\u0161tela is located on the coast of the Bay of Ka\u0161tela. It has over 40 000 inhabitants, and it is the second largest town in the Split and Dalmatia County. It stretches over the length of 17 kilometers. Our town is specific because of the fact that it developed around 7 settlements (Ka\u0161tel \u0160tafili\u0107, Ka\u0161tel Novi, Ka\u0161tel Stari, Ka\u0161tel Luk\u0161i\u0107, Ka\u0161tel Kambelovac, Ka\u0161tel Gomilica and Ka\u0161tel Su\u0107urac) or around castles. Each village has its own particularity merged into character of this part of Mediterranean. Radun and Rudine emerge in recent years as the two new smaller centers.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hotspots.net.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/KastelNoviStafilicNoc3076PsRSSh_1.jpg\" alt=\"KastelNoviStafilicNoc3076PsRSSh_1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The eastern part of the city is a little industrial center. Cement factories, a steel mill and many shopping malls are situated there. Agriculture based on crops traditional for this region is developed in the Field of Ka\u0161tela an on the slopes of Kozjak. Growing of olives, grapes and cherries flourish in the recent times. The western part of the town is more tourism- oriented. This is the area with most accommodation capacities: tourist apartments, rooms, camps and hotels.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hotspots.net.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/hrana-dalmatinska.jpg\" alt=\"hrana dalmatinska\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There is a newly built Marina Ka\u0161tela in Ka\u0161tel Gomilica capable to accommodate large number of private and charter boats. Ka\u0161tela is of the places with the best traffic infrastructure. We have an international airport Split \u2013 Ka\u0161tela, a railway station at Ka\u0161tel Stari, and access to Split \u2013 Zagreb highway at Prgomet and Vu\u010devica.<\/p>\n<p>There are many organizations and institutions which enrich cultural life of the town throughout the year.
