Seven places, one connection \u2013 an event called Creative Spring, ongoing till the end of May. Of course, it is all about Ka\u0161tela, picturesque settlements which form the town of Ka\u0161tela and are located in the bay of Ka\u0161tela, between Split and Trogir. The history of Ka\u0161tel \u0160tafili\u0107, Ka\u0161tel Stari, Kastel Novi, Ka\u0161tel Luk\u0161i\u0107, Ka\u0161tel Kambelovac, Ka\u0161tel Gomilica<\/strong> and Ka\u0161tel Su\u0107urac<\/strong> date back to the Neanderthal Age. Most important reminders of the long history of living in this area are numerous ancient villas, old Croatian churches and castles \u2013 \u02baka\u0161teli\u02ba.<\/p>\n

One of the most beautiful love stories, including a Croatian Romeo & Juliet<\/strong>, was told in Ka\u0161tela – a story about the unfortunate love of \u00a0two young people – Miljenko and Dobrila<\/strong>. Ka\u0161tela are also known for its old, original wine sort \u2013 \u02bacrljenak ka\u0161telanski\u02ba, a predecessor of the world famous Zinfandel.<\/p>\n

To attract a larger number of tourists in springtime to these colorful places, the town of Ka\u0161tela and the Ka\u0161tela Tourist Board, in cooperation with other institutions, organized the tourist&cultural event Creative Spring in Ka\u0161tela. These 7 weeks of the event will include the week of \u02bacrljenak ka\u0161telanski\u02ba, week of Ka\u0161tela Castles, week of Ka\u0161tela’s dialect, week of Ka\u0161tel The Small \u2013 7 days dedicated to children’s creativity, Ka\u0161tela’s flower festivities, Gastronomic Ka\u0161tela or Horse bean Week and week of Roads through Ka\u0161tela. The event covers all important segments – from history and culture to sport tourism and enogastronomy.<\/p>\n

The love story about Miljenko and Dobrila is fused into all weekly events.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Week 1 \u2013 dedicated to \u02bacrljenak ka\u0161telanski\u02ba<\/strong><\/p>\n

In springtime, Ka\u0161tela are particularly appealing to the visitors, and already in the first week of the Creative Spring in Ka\u0161tela, at the opening ceremony organized by the town of Ka\u0161tela on April 9th<\/sup> 2018, Ka\u0161tel Su\u0107urac, residents of Ka\u0161tela and surrounding towns, as well as all their guests, were able to get information on the history of crljenak ka\u0161telanski and taste this exquisite red wine, produced by several winemakers from Ka\u0161tela. Besides fine wine, ancient traditional dishes were available for tasting, provided and prepared by hard working students and teachers of Bra\u0107a Radi\u0107 High School.<\/p>\n

Week 2 \u2013 Ka\u0161tela’s \u02baka\u0161teli\u02ba<\/strong><\/p>\n

The second week of Creative Spring is reserved for Ka\u0161tela’s castles or, in the local dialect, \u02baka\u0161teli\u02ba, because cultural heritage is an important segment of the tourist offer. All lectures are open to the public, and the organizers have extended invitations to owners of travel agencies, local guides and journalists. Lectures on “Ka\u0161tela’s Castles\u201c and “Ka\u0161teli before Ka\u0161tela” will be held on April 17th and 18th in Vitturi castle in Ka\u0161tel Luk\u0161i\u0107. The “Ka\u0161tela Heritage” is the topic of the lecture which will be presented on April 20th and will take place in Podvorje, Ka\u0161tel Su\u0107urac, after which a boat tour of Ka\u0161tela is on the program.<\/p>\n

Week 3 \u2013 Ka\u0161tela’s dialect<\/strong><\/p>\n

The lyrical souls and all those who appreciate beautiful songs, elegant words and performances will enjoy the third week of Creative Spring. On April 23rd, at 7:30 pm, in Podvorje, an event called Night of Book Lovers will kick off with a stand up comedy “Dalmatinka”, created by Marijana Perini\u0107. Later in the evening, at 09:00 pm, you can join a danceathon called COOLturni plesnjak, also in Podvorje. Two days later, on April 25th, at the castle Vitturi, there will be a presentation of the book “Trogirski vojvoda” (The Duke of Trogir), translated by a famous Croatian poet, Luko Paljetak. On April 26th, at 7:30 pm, in St. Juraj’s cinema in Ka\u0161tel Su\u0107urac, the 27th dialectal poet’s evening \u02ba\u010cA bih da jubavi ni\u201c (What would we do without love), is on schedule.<\/p>\n

Week 4 \u2013 Festival of children’s creativity<\/strong><\/p>\n

Intended for children and their creative expression, the 4th week includes an eco-action “Lipa li su lipa moja Ka\u0161tela” (Oh my fair Ka\u0161tela). As part of the Ka\u0161tel The Small project, a children’s creativity festival will be held, followed by a quiz for children on the topic of the famous Ka\u0161tela’s Romeo & Juliet \u2013 Miljenko and Dobrila, festival of children’s folklore groups, and a performance of Little Red Riding Hood.<\/p>\n

Week 5 – 18th Flower Festivities in Ka\u0161tela, dedicated to Miljenko & Dobrila<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ka\u0161tel The Small continues with projects in this week as well, \u00a0with more performances. In addition to children’s performances, gorgeous flowers mark the fifth week of the event, which is dedicated to Ka\u0161tela’s flower festivities. The opening of the 18th Ka\u0161tela’s Flower Festivities is programed on May 11th, at the Vitturi castle. The Flower Festivities will be open from May 11th to May 13th 2018. This year’s main theme are Miljenko & Dobrila.<\/p>\n

Week 6 – Gastro Ka\u0161tela \u2013 All about horse beans<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gastro-fans and all those who simply love good food, \u00a0will enjoy the week of \u00a0Gastronomic Ka\u0161tela, which will include presentations of books written about traditional local food – \u00a0“Manistra and Bob” and “Bob, bobi\u0107, mahuna”. During this week, th economic forum of Split-Dalmatia County will be held at the Vitturi castle. On Saturday, May 19th, at the Fraternity House in Ka\u0161tel Kambelovac, a special event will be hosted \u2013 a World Cup in preparation of dishes with cuttlefish & horse beans, and a day later, on May 20th \u2013 the Feast of Horse beans.<\/p>\n

\"Kastela<\/p>\n

Week 7 \u2013 Roads through Ka\u0161tela<\/strong><\/p>\n

The last week of the Creative Spring Festival is all about romance \u2013 discovering the roads through Ka\u0161tela. On May 28th, for all of those who are in love, have been, and will be, a lovely poetry reading is on schedule – “Romantic Letters to Miljenko and Dobrila”. Both recreative sports people as well as professional athletes will get their own share of excitement – on May 26th they will go cycling on a Ciklo journey through the history of Ka\u0161tela with Biking club \u02baOluja\u02ba. That same day, \u00a0May 26th, will mark the closure of Creative Spring in Vitturi castle. But they have saved some more activities for the very end! To keep you in good shape, \u00a0club \u02baHPD Bedalov\u02ba invites all visitors and tourists on Sunday, May 27th, to a walking tour through Ka\u0161tela. A warm welcome to all of you!<\/p>\n
