The first to propose this thesis was the British scholar Malone (1924), nowadays to be confirmed by scientific researche of Littleton, Malcor, Mathews, Gidlow, Green, among others.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hotspots.net.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/PODSTRANA-CRKVA-02-PODSTRANA1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4790\" src=\"http:\/\/hotspots.net.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/PODSTRANA-CRKVA-02-PODSTRANA1.jpg\" alt=\"PODSTRANA  CRKVA 02 PODSTRANA\" width=\"600\" height=\"499\" srcset=\"https:\/\/croatia-hotspots.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/PODSTRANA-CRKVA-02-PODSTRANA1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/croatia-hotspots.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/PODSTRANA-CRKVA-02-PODSTRANA1-300x250.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Who was Lucius Artorius Castus, the person who provided inspiration for the legend of King Arthur?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He was a historic figure who advanced from the position of a <strong>soldier,<\/strong> to a centurion, a legion commander, a Roman fleet prefect, eventually to have ended his career and life in his province of Liburnia, the present day Dalmatia, in Podstrana &#8211; Sveti Martin.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/hotspots.net.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Konacna-verzija-2-10.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4785\" src=\"http:\/\/hotspots.net.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Konacna-verzija-2-10.jpg\" alt=\"Konacna verzija (2)-10\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/croatia-hotspots.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Konacna-verzija-2-10.jpg 600w, https:\/\/croatia-hotspots.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Konacna-verzija-2-10-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/croatia-hotspots.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Konacna-verzija-2-10-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Having become famous in the battles and wars against the Armenian hordes, Lucius also acquired the right to sentence Roman citizens to death. Besides by his military merits, Lucius is also known for instigating development of olive planting in the area of the present day Podstrana.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hotspots.net.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Konacna-verzija-2-9.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4784\" src=\"http:\/\/hotspots.net.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Konacna-verzija-2-9.jpg\" alt=\"Konacna verzija (2)-9\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/croatia-hotspots.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Konacna-verzija-2-9.jpg 600w, https:\/\/croatia-hotspots.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Konacna-verzija-2-9-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/croatia-hotspots.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Konacna-verzija-2-9-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Numerous historic traces of the tempestuous war events in the area of Podstrana are still deep under the ground. Just like Lucius long time before him, the <strong>Croatian Prince Mislav<\/strong> left his traces in the soil of Podstrana in the 9th century. In the year 839, he defeated the mighty Venetian fleet, whereupon the Venetian Dodge, <strong>Pietro Tradonico<\/strong>, in Podstrana &#8211; <strong>Sveti Martin<\/strong> signed a treaty committing Venice to pay the Croatian Prince Mislav an annual tribute for free sailing the Croatian see.
